The team at Teys Condamine Feedlot recently welcomed 45 Agricultural and Rural Science students from the University of New England (UNE) as part of a three-day Darling Downs feedlot tour.
As the second stop on their journey, the visit gave students a firsthand look at life inside a modern feedlot and the people, skills and teamwork behind the production of high-quality grain-fed beef.
Students spent the day exploring the operation, meeting members of the Condamine team and learning about the many career opportunities available across the lot feeding sector and broader beef industry.
For the Condamine team, the visit was a chance to share what they do every day and help spark interest in the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Phil Lambert, General Manager Operations, Condamine Feedlot, said the team always enjoys the opportunity to open the gates and showcase the industry.

The day wrapped up with students enjoying some great steaks for lunch from our own Teys Certified Angus brand while continuing conversations with the team about agriculture, careers and the future of the industry.
More than anything, the visit reflected the Condamine team’s commitment to investing in the future of lot feeding. By sharing their knowledge, experience and passion for the industry, they’re helping inspire the next generation of people who will drive Australian beef production into the future.
