Teys Australia is proud to continue its long-standing principal partnership and on the ground support of the Intercollegiate Meat Judging (ICMJ) National Conference, returning to Wagga Wagga from 30 June to 4 July 2026.
With less than a month to go, anticipation is building for this event bringing together students, graduates and young professionals from across Australia and around the world. Teys is thrilled to once again collaborate with joint hosting partner Charles Sturt University (CSU), along with ICMJ foundation partners – MLA, and AMPC – all providing such depth of expertise and experience to the attending delegates.
Building skills, networks and real-world experience
The ICMJ program plays a vital role in developing future industry leaders by combining technical training with hands-on experience and direct engagement with industry.
Across the national conference, participants will take part in:
- Interactive workshops and meat judging training, developing technical and decision-making skills
- Industry presentations, offering insights from across the red meat supply chain
- A Careers Expo, connecting participants with potential employers and career pathways
- The national meat judging and carcase competition, where participants test their knowledge in real-world conditions
ICMJ is designed to provide exposure to the full paddock-to-plate story, helping participants understand the science, innovation and commercial drivers behind Australia’s global red meat success.
Showcasing careers across the supply chain
For many students, ICMJ is their first opportunity to experience the processing sector up close and connect with industry professionals.
Through initiatives like the Careers Expo, participants gain insight into the wide range of roles available—from production and processing, through to marketing, exports, technology and research.
These connections are invaluable, helping bridge the gap between study and employment while building networks that often shape long-term careers in the industry.
For Teys, supporting ICMJ aligns closely with our commitment to developing talent and creating pathways for the next generation.

Our Wagga team is looking forward to welcoming participants to site and hosting the carcase competition, where theory meets practice in a fast-paced, real-world environment.
It’s an opportunity to showcase the skill, care and attention to detail that goes into producing high-quality Australian beef—and to give ICMJ attendees a view inside our Wagga processing facility.
A bright future for the red meat industry
The Australian red meat industry continues to evolve, driven by innovation, sustainability and growing global demand. Programs like ICMJ ensure the industry remains strong by developing capable, confident and connected future leaders.
With just weeks to go until the 2026 conference begins, now is the time to get involved. We hope to see you there!
