Blue ribbon win at Central Queensland Carcase Classic (CQCC) competition

Next generation shine at leading carcase competition

Congratulations to all the winners including Rachael Smith, our Stockyard Supervisor at Teys’ Rockhampton, who has been recognised in the coveted Central Queensland Carcase Classic (CQCC) competition.

Rachael was awarded the blue ribbon at the awards dinner in Rockhampton after entering three cattle for the first time in the 2024 competition. Her achievement was having the highest lean meat yielding animal in the competition.

Rachael’s family background is also in the cattle industry, and together we are all so proud to see the next generation, like Rachael, following their passion in this great industry.

A premier beef carcase competition event

The Central Queensland Carcase Classic is famous for highlighting the dedication and expertise of the beef producers of Central Queensland and providing the opportunity to showcase their beef and to benchmark their achievements against the best cattle producers in the region. Teys was once again honoured to be part of this event, as a sponsor, and to support and celebrate the hard work and commitment of the industry.

The awards dinner was held in Rockhampton on Friday, 26 July, and was a night filled with recognition and celebration. Industry professionals came together to share knowledge and forge stronger connections, acknowledging the achievements of participants across the Grass fed, Grain fed and Led Steer classes of the competition.

The competition also raises much needed funds for local groups and charities – continuing the tradition of a true spirit of community support.
