The Organic Program is designed for producers selling to our Naracoorte (SA) and Biloela (QLD) facilities and that follow USDA guidelines, with a focus on the following aspects:
We know demand for organic beef is growing, and we’re proud to support producers who are committed to meeting the strict standards required – from organic feed and pasture management to animal welfare and healthcare. If you’re already raising cattle naturally, this program helps you turn that hard work into real opportunity.
Gain access to premium organic markets that recognise and reward the extra care you put into your cattle and your land.
You’ll be working with a dedicated team of experienced cattle buyers who understand your business and are committed to helping you grow. We market your beef to the world – so you can focus on doing what you do best.
The Organic Program is designed for producers selling to our Naracoorte (SA) and Biloela (QLD) facilities and that follow USDA guidelines, with a focus on the following aspects:
Cattle must be fed 100% certified organic feed, with no antibiotics, hormones, animal by-products, urea, or synthetic additives. At least 30% of their daily diet must come from roughage, and pastures must be managed to prevent overgrazing.
The focus is on proactive, preventative health. While most conventional medications are not allowed, animal welfare comes first – if treatment is needed, it must be provided, and treated animals are managed accordingly.
Producers must be certified by a recognised organic certifying body with regular on-farm audits conducted by a third party.
Cattle raised for organic meat must be managed organically from the third trimester of gestation. Breeding stock can be sourced conventionally, provided they are transitioned to organic management and their offspring meet organic requirements.
Animals must have access to pasture and be handled using low-stress techniques. Facilities must support natural behaviours and protect cattle from harsh weather, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
