Experienced people who care about cattle
Most of our team have been raised on or have cattle properties of their own. They’re talented and passionate people who value relationships, love our industry and respect animals through and through. These values were established early on by the four founding Teys brothers, and today are championed by our head of Livestock, Glenn Poole, a respected industry veteran with a livestock career spanning four decades.
Our livestock team draws on rich agricultural and animal science backgrounds, and a lifetime of experience supporting producers.

Our buyers are always here to help you if you’re interested in selling to Teys and joining one of our six livestock programs. Working with Teys, our team partners with you to make sure your hard work is making a difference to people across Australia and around the world.
You can read more below about our different livestock programs and how you can participate.
Grasslands is a premium, natural range underpinned by the Grasslands Pasturefed Standard. This standard focuses on three key areas:
This program underpins our Teys Certified Premium Black Angus brand. Cattle in this program must be verified via the National Vendor Declaration and the Teys Angus Declaration.
To join the EU program, cattle must be accredited under the European Union Cattle Accreditation Scheme (EUCAS). Key requirements for EU are that cattle have never been treated with hormonal growth promotants and maintain lifetime traceability.
All our branded programs are underpinned by Meat Standards Australia (MSA) to ensure we maintain the eating quality integrity of our products. MSA takes into account all factors that affect eating quality.
To supply our premium grain-fed brands, cattle must be sourced from National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme (NFAS) accredited feedlots and fed an eligible ration for a minimum of 100 days.
We buy organic cattle from producers who are accredited by the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) for processing at our Naracoorte (SA) and Biloela (QLD) plants. These are third-party, independently audited accreditation programs. Cattle supplied into our organic program must also be part of our Grasslands program
Maintaining the highest animal welfare practices
We are committed to maintaining the highest animal welfare practices across our entire supply chain. That’s why it’s important every producer we work with shares our standards and meets our Vendor Animal Welfare Requirements.
Our strong relationships with our Aussie producers, suppliers, and transporters mean we can make sure that the best practice animal welfare standards are always upheld.
